The short version

There is exactly one official Relay Race service: the one hosted at kj7wrfrelay.com (plus official apps by Olli Wanzek). You are welcome to play and host events there for free for personal, educational, and amateur/club purposes. You may not copy, re-host, resell, paywall, or publish it (or any derivative) anywhere else — including the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

License to use (not own)

Olli Wanzek grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the service through a normal web browser or official app. You do not receive ownership, source code rights, or the right to run your own copy.

What you may do

  • Create a free account and join events; log legs, check-ins, and scores per event rules.
  • Host non-commercial events on kj7wrfrelay.com and share the event link / lobby code.
  • Export/print results for your own event for personal or club use.
  • Link to kj7wrfrelay.com from club sites, flyers, and QR codes.

What you may not do (without written permission)

  • Copy, mirror, re-host, or frame the service as your own.
  • Provide it as a hosted service, API, or product to others.
  • Publish it (or clones built from scraping/reverse engineering) to the App Store, Google Play, or any marketplace.
  • Sell access, charge mandatory entry/paywall fees powered by the service, or use it commercially.
  • Bulk-scrape leaderboards, callsigns, locations, or event data; cheat or impersonate callsigns.

Hosting events

Events are containers inside the official service. Creating an event gives you organizer rights over that event only. Events must be amateur/non-commercial unless approved. You grant Olli Wanzek a license to display your event's name, scores, and callsigns on public leaderboards.

Fair play, safety, liability

One account per person. Falsified logs may be removed. Relay events involve real-world travel and RF operation — you are solely responsible for operating safely and legally (including FCC Part 97). Do not operate while driving. Do not trespass. Service provided "AS IS" without warranties; liability limited to amounts paid in the prior 12 months.
